About the Opportunity
A pioneering robotics and autonomous industrial machinery manufacturer in the Greater Boston innovation cluster is hiring a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer. You will guide new product development from initial structural FEA simulations through pilot precision manufacturing.
What You'll Do
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design of autonomous robotic end-effectors and high-precision electromechanical assemblies.
- Conduct thermal analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and tolerance stack-up modeling using SolidWorks and ANSYS.
- Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and quality teams to execute comprehensive DFM (Design for Manufacturing) validation.
- Oversee domestic vendor relationships for precision CNC machining, injection molding, and rapid prototyping.
What We're Looking For
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- 6+ years of commercial mechanical design experience in robotics, medical devices, or aerospace systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and structural simulation tools.
